Stack smaller items upon the larger pieces you place along the walls to utilize the space allotted to the best of your ability.

In addition, consider buying a few shelving units to place smaller items upon. These keep your unit tidy and you can organize items upon the shelves by category so they are found easily when you decide to take a visit to your storage unit. Small plastic bins work well at holding these items while providing an attractive appearance to this area of your unit.

Utilize Drawers And Shelves

Do not allow any space to go unused if you have many items to place in storage. Open each drawer and place smaller items inside of them. Use shelves to stack books, paperwork, or other items that you do not wish to keep at floor level.
